Deep in the hills of Crystalsong Forest, tucked away at the back of a crumbling cemetery, lies a old grave. Long ago, a dragon buried their closest friend and began their eternal vigil besides their love's resting place. Love never dies, and to this day travelers leave tokens of love and comfort as offerings on their grave.

My submission, "Eternal Vigil", is a scene featuring the environment of this story. Natural elements include the ley crystals, forest plants and wildflowers that have overtaken the area, two types of trees (the Shimmer Willow and a subvariety of Crystalsong Aspen), rocks, and vines that cover the crumbling architecture and skeleton. The structure is the cemetery's arch and gateway. Finally, the props are the grave offerings: a lantern, candles, blanket, and a bottle of sweet spirits.

This environment was hand painted in Procreate, and modeled and assembled in Blender. Special thanks to my friends + mentors for giving me so much encouragement and feedback throughout this process, I learned SO much. I've only been doing 3D work since September 2022 (and started hand painting in December) so this was a massive undertaking for me, but I'm really encouraged by the results and I can't wait to learn more!
